• Control: 
      Drones can be controlled remotely by a ground-based pilot through a control station or navigate on their own following a pre-programmed flight path. 

  • Power: 
    Most are powered by batteries, with the most common commercial models being quadcopters (four propellers) that use lithium-polymer batteries. 

  • Payload: 
    Drones carry various “payloads,” which can be anything from a camera for aerial photography to sensors for inspection, or even military equipment. 

  • Navigation and sensors: 
    Many modern drones have GPS and a flight controller for stable flight. They may also feature sensors for obstacle avoidance and cameras for video or photography. 

    Components and how they work
    • Frame: The body of the drone, typically made of lightweight composite material. 
    • Motors and Propellers: Motors spin the propellers, which push air down to create lift, allowing the drone to fly. 
    • Flight Controller: A small computer that uses sensors and the flight controller to keep the drone steady and direct its movements. 
    • Battery: The power source for the drone, usually a rechargeable battery. 
    • Remote Controller: The device used to send commands to the drone via radio waves, which can also have a screen to view the camera feed. 
    Basic flight controls
    • Left Stick: 
      Controls altitude and rotation. 

      • Up: Ascend (rise). 
      • Down: Descend (lower). 
      • Left: Rotate counter-clockwise (yaw left). 
      • Right: Rotate clockwise (yaw right). 
    • Right Stick: 
      Controls horizontal movement. 

      • Up: Move forward. 
      • Down: Move backward. 
      • Left: Move left. 
      • Right: Move righ
