FUN FACT

Women bikers made moto pants sexy on purpose

In the 1980s–1990s, female riders and rock chicks (like Poison Ivy from The Cramps, Joan Jett's crew, and members of the Women in the Wind club) deliberately customized their leather riding pants with lower waistlines, tighter fits, and cutouts to accentuate curves and reclaim the "biker babe" look.

A 1995 article in Easyriders magazine even interviewed women who said they wore low-rise moto pants to "make the guys stare — then ride circles around them." The style influenced modern women's moto fashion, where pants are now marketed as both protective and flattering.
