FUN FACT: THE CUSTOM TOY CATASTROPHE

A guy decided to 3D-print himself the absolute biggest custom toy imaginable on a standard FDM printer using everyday PLA filament.

He used it exactly once.

Within minutes he was screaming in pain and had to haul himself to the ER. Doctors pulled out dozens of razor-sharp PLA fragments that had sheared off and embedded themselves inside — because PLA is brittle, porous, and turns into literal sandpaper when heated by friction.

“Patient presented with multiple superficial internal lacerations and embedded thermoplastic shards. Claims he ‘wanted the biggest one possible.’ Strongly advised against future home fabrication of insertables.”

3D printing lets you literally forge your own personal disaster in plastic. One shitty layer, one wrong material, and your custom monster becomes a medical horror story that gets whispered about on forums for years.
