It’s specifically designed to attach to the diaper so that it can more effectively detect movement. Intuitive alarm system gives you time to respond – If the Hero SE baby monitor can't detect movement, it will vibrate after 15 seconds of no movement detected, followed by an audible alarm after a further 5 seconds of no movement detected, giving you valuable time to respond and act. Excellent with caveats plus six month update
First I want to say this is an amazing excellent product that does exactly what it says. It is super sensitive, picks up every breath accurately, and gives great peace of mind. There are a few things to know.Volume level. It is loud enough that we can hear it across the hall with both doors open. Easily heard through a baby monitor.Wearability. Most newborns are going to be swaddled and be in sleep and play outfits. By design you have to clip this to a diaper or pant waist then you will still want to put a swaddle over it. If you have two layers with a sleep and play and swaddle chances are you won’t see the green light. I like the green light bc it shows me at quick glance my baby is still breathing in the dark night. I find that it’s best to put the sleep and play on then rest the sensor on the belly then put the swaddle on. Doing so you can still see the light blinking. It comes with a risk bc the monitor may move if your baby wiggles a lot and false alert if it no longer makes good contact with the belly. To solve this I honestly wish the maker of this product would have like a little elastic waist band that you could put around the sleep and play before putting on the swaddle.Overall I would buy it again bc I think it’s one of the better products on the market.six month update…I would buy this 10 times over. it is super easy to use and super accurate. you can clip it onto a diaper and then put on clothes and then a sleep sack and turn on the audible beep so you can hear the ticking instead of seeing the green light which is awesome because I can hear it through the baby monitor and I know that he’s still breathing.

We’re convinced this saved our firstborn’s life.
Our son had terrible reflux when he was a newborn, and at one point, he was on his back and started choking on his own spit up. The monitor woke us up and we were able to get him taken care of. This little thing was crucial for my peace of mind (PPA is awful!) and my own sleep in the first several months. When we found out I was pregnant with our second, it was one of the first purchases I made. It’s so easy to use, and compared to other smart monitors, it is very inexpensive.

Peace of mind
My baby refused to sleep in his bassinet unless on his stomach which scared me because of everything saying “back is best”. I couldn’t sleep without having to check on him every few minutes. Now I put the Snuza on his pants and can turn over and see that green flashing light going and know he’s okay. The only “false alarms” have been user error when I didn’t place it in the right spot. Since he sleeps right next to the bed the alarm is plenty loud. Thankfully we are all able to sleep better with the Snuza.

Just get it
My pediatrician advised against the Owlet. They said the information isn’t always accurate and instead of it giving you peace of mind you end up obsessing over it causing more stress in the long run. This product is simple yet effective – your baby is either breathing or they’re not. Green light is good and you can see it but it isn’t too bright to bother anyone. Red light gives a little buzz to get breathing going again and after some more time the alarm goes off. The alarm isn’t very loud and has never woken my baby but it wakes me as I anticipate my babies needs, clearly. Alarm goes off because it fell off the diaper hem but I’d rather be safe than sorry. This simple yet effective tool helped me sleep easier as I adjusted to first time mom life. It was a major help to calming my PPA. Also, the batteries last a ridiculously long time. Get it!

Can’t Recommend Enough!!!
An EMT recommended this monitor to us and I wish I had it for our first baby! We used it since day one with our second and it saves such piece of mind! We’ve been using it for 5 months now without any glitches or issues. The beep is loud enough we could hear if from the room next door. The green flashing light is a bonus too, that way if you think you forgot to turn it on, it’s a quick check to know if it’s on. It saved us so much sleep and worrying. And it’s so much more economical than most of the stats monitors out there. Easy to attach onto the diaper. I thought it would be uncomfortable for them, so I was hesitant at first, but it never seemed to bother them at all. Can’t recommend enough!!

amazing BUT…
Overall, this product is amazing and I will be using/buying another for my next baby. I am 5months PP and this has helped my anxiety tremendously, especially centered around SIDS. There is a small green light that flashes with every breath movement, and you can even set it where there is a “tick” noise with every breath as well. It’s small and easy to clip on to diaper. Easy to travel with. Love using this in the car when I am by myself because I worry about him breathing while asleep in the car seat. The comfort I feel when I wake up in a panic over him breathing and I look in the pitch black and can see the green light flashing. It immediately brings me back down . It gives me such peace of mind. Not going to lie it took a couple of weeks for my anxiety brain to really comprehend that if it can’t sense him breathing the alarm WILL go off. But once my brain finally got it I could actually sleep some during the night. BUTTTT….It has room for improvement. The alarm is not loud enough. If your baby sleeps right next to you in a bassinet then you will be fine. But you will not hear the alarm on a monitor if your baby sleeps in another room. When my baby turned 3 months I moved him into his crib and onto another wall in MY room. With our fan going, and the sound machine on, and under two layers of clothing (sleeper and swaddle) I could not hear it. I did a test run. So I moved the crib right next to my bed. Also you may or may not be able to see the flashing green light depending on the thickness of your swaddle/sack. I started to notice that as my son moved out of NB size swaddles but by that time I was comfortable enough with the device that seeing the light or not wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I never had any false alarms until now. My son is currently 5 months and going on 2 weeks and he LOVES to roll and sleep on his stomach. This causes him to scrunch up and with the positioning of the way he sleeps the sensor is not touching his stomach. It has gone off 3 times on me just tonight. I am trying a new method of clipping the snuza on the back of his diaper since he sleeps on his stomach and so far so good. But if I start having trouble again I will be in the market for something new. I love the snuza because it doesn’t hook up to WiFi. I have read so many reviews about the owlet un syncing and going off and we don’t have the best service and WiFi where I live so this was the best and most affordable option. Overall if you’re questioning it I would say go for it. It helped me survive the “4th trimester” truly. It also has a 12 month warranty. I’m in the market for a battery and that is seeming to be a bit of a problem finding the correct one. The battery light indicator hasn’t shown me it’s getting low yet but I want to be prepared for when it does. If I can get around this sleep position problem we will be gold.

Great product even greater customer service.
Easier to use than the other types of monitors that mess with apps and connection that always disconnects or only works from internet or a certain distance. I read that this gave way less false alert issues than the owlet or sense u. My only complaint is that my monitor was a defective one and kept blinking red and vibrating even when breathing was detected. I like that it vibrates to stimulate the baby if it doesn’t sense breathing but mine just seemed to be defective because I even tested it on myself and like 20 seconds into me breathing, it would still vibrate as if I wasn’t. My baby is very squirmy and pees out of his diaper a lot so I’m sure that didn’t help but even with testing it on myself it just gave a false alert. I still gave four stars though because their customer service was excellent. When I reached out, they tried to troubleshoot it with me. Even after attempting to give it another chance, I had lost my return window since I ordered it a little early before my baby was born and then gave it so long of trying it but they still offered to give me a refund or send a new monitor. I opted for the refund since my baby was over six weeks old and I was too tired to try again but they kept in contact with me for weeks until a solution was agreed on which I appreciated since I am postpartum and struggling to keep up on everything.

Highly recommend!
As a first time mom with TERRIBLE anxiety about SIDS I don’t know how I would have gotten through the first couple months without this. It works great. Is comfortable for my little guy. Is easy to use. And is fairly loud. I love the flashing light so I could look over and see it under his jammies. It is very bright! And has a long lasting battery. Great to travel with! I’ve only had two false alarms and that’s because he was kicking like crazy and it slipped off his diaper. I highly recommend it to every anxious momma out there!

Great for our little belly sleeper
I got this to use on our 3 month old while my husband was away for work for a week. We already let our baby nap on her tummy during the day when we’re awake, but I needed more peace of mind to allow her to do that while I was also sleeping (when my other 3 kids weren’t waking up). It has gone off a handful of times in the 3 weeks we’ve been using it – a few times it jolted me out of my sleep and I rushed to check on her and shoosh the device before I could tell if there was a true breathing issue or not. A few times I could tell she was still breathing and moving but the device didn’t seem to think it was often enough. Either way, she’s been fine every time and I’m getting more sleep than I otherwise would have.A lot of reviews mention the alarm is hard to hear, but it’s really pretty loud. Whether you’re in the same room or not, I wouldn’t put any solid layers over the device (like a sleep sack or cotton blanket), otherwise it muffles the sound and you can’t see the flashes. And it would obviously be harder to hear through a monitor, especially if you have any fans or white noise going. We put our kiddo in a onsie and footed pants and attach it to the back of the pants. We put a blanket over her bottom half that has lots of small gaps in it so the sound and light can still easily be heard and seen (handmade blankets), and she’s always in the same room as one of us.The only thing I wish was different is that the two side buttons weren’t directly across from each other. You press both at the same time to turn it off, but only one of them to turn it on. I always end up having to hold it with both hands to turn it on because otherwise my fingers want to naturally hold it where the buttons are which makes it hard to press in just one of them and not both at the same time. A small gripe for an awesome device. All in all, well worth the +$100.
