Equestrian
Erotica

Fun Fact: In the Victorian era (1800s–early 1900s), wealthy women in England and the U.S. started a bizarre trend: riding sidesaddle in nothing but a silk or satin horse blanket draped over the horse (and sometimes themselves) for "private" photoshoots or scandalous garden parties.

The blankets were custom-made, often embroidered with family crests or erotic motifs, and the whole setup was marketed as "elegant equestrian erotica." One famous case involved a British aristocrat, Lady Florence Dixie (explorer and suffragist), who was photographed in the 1880s riding sidesaddle wearing only a fur-lined blanket on her horse — the image was circulated privately among high society as a status symbol of wealth and daring.

Horse blankets back then weren't just for warmth; they became luxury fashion statements that blurred the line between stable gear and seduction. Today, high-end horse blankets (like those from brands like Kentucky or Back on Track) still carry that legacy — people drop thousands on them not just for the horse, but because owning one screams "I can afford to look this good while I ride."
