   Amazing Single DIN, Digital Screen! Easy to install!

   Overall, I thought this digital car display was an excellent product! I thought it was appropriately priced and does everything it says does. I was a little hesitant that it would fit my car which is an old 1999 Toyota Corolla, however, it fit very well, although I had to take the harness that it came with off. I was also surprised that the brackets for the original cassette player that I was replacing this digital display with fit perfectly on this device. The dashboard cover mostly fits back onto the dashboard, except a little on the b bottom, but it’s not really noticeable as the screen covers that; the vents also still work well. I also had to go and buy a cable that converts the connectors in my Toyota Corolla to the standard ISO connectors that connect to the back of this digital display (labeled A and B on the back of the device). For anyone interested, I got it for $12 here: https://a.co/d/0x2yaSTThis connector works for most Toyota models (the supported models are listed on the item page, but I’d still recommend checking to make sure they will work for your car model).The display is a little big for my car, as shown in the pictures since it covers the vents and some of the air controls below. I don’t really mind this, however. I like that it’s a really big display and easy to see. The display has a micro SD card reader and can also read from USB drives. From this, you can play videos, view photos, and listen to music stored on the device. The radio works fairly well and the original radio antenna fits into the back of this digital display. The sound from the radio is a little muffled, however, but I don’t really use the radio much, so it wasn’t a problem.A phone connected with Bluetooth has two ways of interfacing with with digital display. The built-in software of the device can do some basic functions like play music, receive calls, and make calls, which seem to work fairly well. I don’t really use this feature as Android Auto has all of these features, plus a lot more. The device supports both wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. However, I had a lot of trouble getting the wireless Android Auto to work well with my LG G8 phone. But, the wired Android Auto basically works instantly when I connect my phone and the digital display with a USB-C cable. As a plus, the digital display has a fast-charging, 3A USB port in addition to the regular port used to connect wired Android Auto.The Android Auto seems to work really well. The audio from the music is very clear, sounds really good and its loudness is ample. Google Maps is very handy and works very well, very similar to how it works on your phone. The Google Assistant is nice when it works, which usually does work for me. I have had an occasional bug where the Google Assistant responses can’t be heard. Disconnecting Android Auto and reconnecting, however, seems to fix this. In addition, the Google Assistant voice is a little muffled, but this doesn’t bother me that much. I can’t really make much use of calling and texting through Android Auto since I have a Google Voice number that I use for texting and calling. There is a Google Voice application on Android Auto, which is nice, however, I can’t compose new messages or call people from the Android Auto Google Voice app. I can only reply to messages and answer calls. This is less so a problem with the digital display and more a problem with Android Auto support. I can also customize some of the positions of the widgets and the menu bar from the Android Auto settings page on my phone.My phone is a little older with Android 11 and is no longer receiving updates, so I think that the reason I’m having wireless connection issues is because of my phone and not the digital display. I had a few problems with the wireless Android Auto. First, when I first connected my phone to Bluetooth, even though Android Auto was already installed, I had to manually start Android Auto by going into the phone settings, clicking on “Connected devices”, and then clicking on “Android Auto” which brought me to the Android Auto settings page. Then, I found that the wireless Android Auto would work best when first setting up, by going through the Android Auto settings, pressing “CONNECT A CAR”, pressing “Connect using wireless Android Auto”, and then following the steps to connect with Bluetooth from there.Another error I had was when Android Auto would start to connect, but would then show an error on the phone saying “Communication error 17 – Something went wrong”. This would only happen sometimes, however, and I found that the best way to fix this was to go under Developer options and enable the Bluetooth Gabeldorsche feature stack which is basically the newer version of the Android Bluetooth system used on the latest devices. Another thing that I think helped the connectivity was disabling “Media audio” usage for the Bluetooth device. I think when this is enabled, my phone treats the digital display as a wireless speaker, and that inhibits Android Auto from properly recognizing the digital display as an Android Auto device.Again, I think these wireless connection issues were largely due to my older phone and not the digital display.The included backup camera was also easy to install. You do need a tool to strip the ends of the wires to connect to the backup light and one wire going to the digital display. I got the camera working with very little hassle and it is very clear during the daytime. During the night, the camera looks a little hazy, but it still shows you clearly what’s behind you.Overall, the digital display works very well and I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to upgrade their car!

   Specs to look for if want as cheap as possible

   I purchased this last May, after some research. All I needed was a touchscreen, and Bluetooth for music, as cheap as possible. Looking at the stereos priced $30-$70, the reviews say the unit works fine, but consistently mention one thing: low volume. Upon a little more Google research, I read that output wattage (particularly RMS) needs to be a decent number, and after checking that in specs listed, I realized the cheap $40 units were going to be a regret. There also needs to be a physical turning knob for volume, not the volume up and downbuttons, which are annoying anyway. This was the best unit with those capabilities I could find at a low price point. Also with a history of good reviews, I didn’t even look at the ones with negative reviews or a low number of good ones because I was too broke to take a gamble. I hope this helps someone as indecisive as I am. And the unit works great – no problems whatsoever, but that is said with a solid installation – you shouldn’t complain or leave a negative review if you’re a DIY w/duct tape and a pocket knife type person.*Also, the other reviews about customer service are on point. Probably the kindest group of people you’ll ever deal with regarding an Amazon purchase.

   So I bought this instead of a Sony, Kenwood, or Alpine

   You can determine if this is an honest review or not, based on my other reviews:So I bought this instead of a Sony, Kenwood, or Alpine. AAND I installed it. I bought the SCOSCHE Install Centric ICFD6BN Aftermarket connection kit, and only used the harness for my 2008 Ford F150. Saved the plastic bracket crap for later: nothing matched up, so I couldn’t use the Scosche nonsense plastic brackets. Took me a while, but I actually just used the trim and brackets that came with this unit, and tweaked them a bit, I mean a lot, to get those (4) screws in to replace the outdated stock unit. Actually looks quite good, but took some work.My first impressions: LOUD. This head unit is very good at outputting much, much more than my original stock stereo. Listened to A7X “Scream” at 40 volume with “Rock” EQ, and Loudness on, and I had to turn it down. Man, that sounded good.Bluetooth Connection: at first, Apple CarPlay worked fine, several times, in and out of the truck. Then, it wouldn’t connect. At all.Had to reset my phone, reset the head unit. Try again. Nothing. “Enter 0000” it says. All the time.Also, as others have noted, there is no way to listen to local radio when connected to CarPlay. Big bummer. It’s a different App with this stereo, so I kind of understand. I can get by with installed apps on iPhone, like Audacy, or others. But it would be nice to have this option.Mirror is a nightmare so far. I can’t figure out a way to go from Bluetooth to Mirror. Perhaps it’s not available. This software/firmware out of the box is sketchy at best. If I am connected via BT, the mirror option is NOT AVAILABLE. AT ALL. And vice-versa, and so on and so forth.At first, when connecting to CarPlay via BT, it was flawless, then suddenly, it would connect for music, but not CarPlay. Boo PLZ. Substandard at best.So right out the gate I asked them for software/firmware upgrade via email, as suggested with the paper insert, and I must admit they responded quite quickly. I also asked for a Ford logo. They sent me (2) links. I have not yet installed these, but when I do I will update. Hopefully this will take care of the BT connection issues, which are a deal-breaker for me. If this update takes care of my connection issues, I will update stars. If not, well, I’ll rip it out and stars go down. I bought this for CarPlay. I can look past radio vs. CarPlay.So far, this head unit has very good sound and plenty of options. I bought this for ease of CarPlay. So if this is not resolved via firmware upgrade, I’ll yank it out and go with an Alpine.They did ask me for a positive review for a free front camera (normal for Chinese intros), and since I’ve not yet installed the included rear camera, I will reserve my positive review for if this thing actually works for what I bought it for in the first place, which is seamless CarPlay. So far, before the impending firmware, I am impressed with the sound. But not the connectivity. Update to follow.UPDATE 7/15/24: So the two files sent to me were the FORD Boot logo, and the instructions. When I compared the version installed via flask drive vs. version updated, they were exactly the same. 20240307. This tells me that the firmware/software was not updated (I believe), and that the latest is from March 7. Not looking good. The FORD boot logo does look nice, and my BT CarPlay connection has not dropped as much as in the past. But that could also be a fluke; time will tell. Will update soon.UPDATE 7/30/24: I have had random disconnects with CarPlay, but overall the system has responded. Caveats below:1. When the system seems to be stuck in a loop with CarPlay, I turn off the vehicle, take the phone away (not sure if this is necessary), then get back in, start, and everything connects properly. My takeaway: Even though the head unit could be turned off with the power button while vehicle is in use, the head unit DOES NOT cycle power, because it is always connected to ACC. Cycling power via the key (and for some, opening the door) ACTUALLY turns off the unit. Then it will allow it to attempt to re-connect. This worked for me.2. I bought a third-party reverse camera, and hooked it up to this unit, and it works well. ANOTHER CAVEAT I have noticed is that while connecting this unit to your phone via Bluetooth (like getting in the vehicle and starting it), if you cycle to the reverse to activate the camera during the Bluetooth connection process, it could be wonky. In my experience, it connected via Bluetooth and annunciated, but would not show the map. My advice is to let the unit connect first. This takes a whole 5 seconds out of your day. The HORRORS.3. It is clear that the native radio, while using, will not allow you to view the map from your phone, but it does annunciate turn direction. My workaround was to install Audacy and others, because I prefer to listen to radio. For others that prefer their normal streaming, this is probably not an issue.One thing I have been doing is ripping DVD movies onto micro SD. I use MakeMKV, then use Handbrake to convert to MP4, with (need to select) MP3 audio, and +20 Gain. THIS IS THE FORMAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE USED WITH THIS HEAD UNIT. Works pretty well, and my kids can watch movies on this unit while driving down the road. Bonus is the micro SD fits snugly in the upper right corner (its home), and your saved MKV files can always be used to convert to other formats.So far, it’s been a pretty good cheap unit, so I upgraded to 4 stars.Will update later.UPDATE 9/4/24: Unit still working well, and is connecting more reliably; perhaps because I have learned to adapt to the unit, and not the other way around. Upgraded stock paper 25W speakers to Polk Audio DB+572s F+R and sounds a bit better. I noticed that this unit’s EQ is not what I expected; with new speakers I leave on Flat EQ and sounds pretty good with Loudness on. Using “Rock” EQ at high volume sounds very distorted; garbage. Hope this helps some. Does not take advantage of speakers yet, due to what I have found is low output. The exaggeration of output reported by other reviewers is indeed accurate.Still sounds good with minimal fiddling, but wondering if an amp would help vs. Alpine or Pioneer replacement head. Will update later…

   PLZ Radio

   This is a great radio for the price. The instructions that came with it were very easy to understand, which made the installation nice and simple. The install only took me 30 minutes or so, but I used a vehicle specific wiring harness that I bought separately that prevented me from having to cut any wires on my vehicle. The radio boots up and connects to wireless Android Auto very quickly. I would say that it connects faster than the stock manufacturer radios I have in other vehicles. The screen display is very clear and crisp. I have also had no issues with the display disconnecting, which was a concern when I first bought it as the screen sticks out from the radio an inch or two. I didn’t know this when I bought the radio, but you can contact the manufacturer via email to have them make a custom boot up screen or wallpaper. The customer service was great and very fast even though we were a few time zones apart. It was as easy as emailing with the image I wanted as the new screen and including some software IDs found in the radio menu. This wasn’t a make or break feature for me, but I think it is a cool bonus. The surprisingly good customer service is the reason I even decided to leave a review on the product.I also bought the kit that included the backup camera. The install was pretty simple. It just requires routing a single wire from the radio to the back of the vehicle. The clarity is also pretty good, which helps a lot as I installed this system on an older Pickup truck. I would highly recommend this radio to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive and high quality radio upgrade for their vehicle. However, I would also recommend finding a vehicle specific wiring harness kit so you don’t have to mess with cutting wires on your vehicle.

   Excellent Budget Option

   I purchased the MP-902W head unit in my 2008 Toyota Sienna LE. The following parts completed my installation:-Axxess AXSWC Steering Wheel Control Interface-Metra 70-1761 Radio Wiring Harness-Metra 70-8114 Steering Wheel Control Add-On Harness with AUXI am please so far with the MP-902W and installation was relatively straightforward. I did find that that the RCA video wire supplied for the rear camera was not long enough for my Sienna. I needed an additional 6 feet of extension to reach the front dash. I really appreciated the custom boot screens from PLZ. Their update was quick and easy. The most difficult part of the installation was figuring out the AXSWC Steering Wheel Interface. After double checking all of the connections I was able to confirm that the AXSWC was receiving steering wheel signals, but not yet recognizing the PLZ head unit. Metra tech support indicated that manual configuration would be necessary and suggested a few of the brand profiles to check first. Since I could not find this information ANYWHERE online, I thought others might find it helpful that the “Visteon” stereo profile worked and allowed me to properly configure steering wheel controls.

   Bring a 25 year old car right up to date with all of the modern functionality of new cars!

   I am really enjoying this unit. It brings a 25-year-old Honda CRV right up to date with all of the modern conveniences of vehicles that you purchase today. With a little bit of know how, I was able to mount this radio in the single DIN slot in my vehicle. Following the clear instructions for wiring, this turned on and worked flawlessly the first time. The menus are clear and rather self-explanatory. The Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless so far and I love that the screen seems very durable. I’m getting used to some of the menus but I love the fact that it has an actual volume button knob that you can turn, like old school. I’m an Android user and I’m finding that the compatibility is spot on. I’ve been in contact with their technical support for a firmware upgrade, I contacted them through Facebook following the included instructions, and they got back to me within minutes! They do say to allow 24 hours but I must have caught them at a great time. I will be doing the firmware update tomorrow according to their instructions. I’m very pleased with this purchase!

   It works

   I’ve had this in my car for about 3 months now and it’s a get what you pay for stereo. It was a bit difficult to install in my Grand Prix, but I did figure it out. Sometimes when it’s real hot outside it isn’t as responsive. There’s been a couple times where it hasn’t connected wirelessly to my phone, but when I plug it in it works. My biggest complaint would be on rare occasions it will get stuck on a 1 second loop of a song and wont let you change it, turn down the volume or anything until it gets shut off. Those times have been a disaster cause it’s been on full volume and way to loud to deal with while going 70 down the interstate. All in all, it’s a decent stereo with a couple little problems.

   Not bad for price, but Audio Quality needs improvement for sure.

   -So far everything works great! Install was easy and fit like a glove in my 99 Buick without having to trim anything. Bought a Kit for bracket was simple as always. I really like the Video playback settings, So I can control even when driving for my passengers. I Installed the Unit yesterday and Talked with PLZ Support through Facebook to get the latest updates.. Let me tell you seems like its extra steps or a pain, but they made this easy with very detailed instructions in English throughout the entire Install & Update, was quite surprised honestly.I Got a New boot Logo for my Vehicle Show it shows a Buick Logo on startup, along with the most recent updates. Android Auto works decent wireless so far.USB can also watch Video playback as well easily, and looks great! Had to Convert all my Movies to 720p around 800bit through VLC and for free. Now i have any movie I want to watch on the go.The Mirror App works, though I haven’t played around to much to figure out settings for Netflix or Prime wont show anything but black screen on the Head Unit while mirroring.So far for the Price of this Unit and the Customer Service being so quick to respond and help. I give it *4 Stars and will keep updated if any changes.-UPDATE: I’m picky so to me these things matter. When Connected to Android Auto, Youtube Music works and sounds fine. But when making calls through Android Auto or Bluetooth, on Phone, FB, Navigation, or any other App than Youtube Music, I’m getting high pitched distortion which is a bit of a bummer.. Audio Quality goes from good from Music to Bad in Calls or Navigation quick which i use a lot..I had to to re-do my Subwoofer RCA connection, as i went straight to the Green Subwoofer hookup on the unit, instead of the normal L & R Red & White RCA Audio. Sub sounded great, but It randomly makes my Sub pop when i start the car so I switched and lost sub controls which is a bummer. But rather not have my Sub blow from popping..The Quality of Audio on Calls and Nav being poor is a bit a bummer so far while Wireless. Will mess around and see if i can tune it better, also need to replace my Tweeters/Speakers before i give up on it and buy something else, and will keep updated, and I will change my stars if i can fix these issues..Sound Quality in my last Head Unit was a Pioneer, and didn’t sound bad using AUX at all. So, I will buy new Speakers/Tweeters since I need them anyways and mess with settings a little more, and will try out AUX as well, But that defeats my purpose of needing Wireless..Id prefer not to have to buy any adapters. Also hoping the Unit lasts without issues as i saw a few reviews mention not connecting after a few months, and will definitely keep yall updated.UPDATE: Bought bad ass Speakers and Tweeters sound great and not the issue at all..The unit just has POOR Audio Quality even while using Auxiliary. Customer Service told me to mess with EQ settings which believe me I have..Its a cheap unit so if I want Quality guess I have to pay for it. Which goes up quite a bit.So if you want a quick cheap setup that works alright, its decent but for a permanent solution I think I’ll have to return because I use my radio all day long delivering and the Quality being poor gives me a headache.

   Can’t beat this price!

   2001 Honda CRVI spent lots of money previously for a pioneer unit that eventually took a crap on me within a year. Customer support and warranty was a joke and decided to go a different route.Now this PLZ which was unheard of, had great reviews and was cheaper than the shipping cost to have my pioneer unit shipped & repaired.-Installation was pretty straightforward, especially if you already have an existing aftermarket harness. Just match the colors together.-user friendly, easy to navigate-EQ is good, still running stock speakers and was a huge upgrade from OEM head unit even better than the poopy pioneer.The bad:- Disco mode lights: the colored lights on the buttons are always cycling every 2-5 seconds, at first, I thought I would be able to set a color for the buttons. But it turns out that it just cycles through all the colors not a big deal, but definitely bugs me a little bit.-Software update: unit started being a little buggy, in order to get a software update for the unit. You have to reach out to them through Facebook and send them a message stating that you need a software update. They then get back to you within 24 hours and email you three folders to unzip onto a USB drive, everything works smoothly, but the process is definitely a little unconventional, they are able to install any image you would like for the device start up. I asked them to upload a Honda logo, looks good.

    Could be better

    Bought this head unit a month ago to replace my old 20 dollar one.Big upgrade from my single din bluetooth player. Right of the box works perfectly fine. Firmware update was smoth. Costumer service is very good via email.I like it .Now the bad. This thing is heavy, the screen in particular, so make sure to secure it properly. In my car (96 accord) there’s nothing to screw it on, besides the plastic vessel and the metal tabs from the outer shell of the head unit.Also if the weather is hot (100 degrees and up) Sometimes android auto/carplay cuts briefly.Screen hinges could be better. I have to slide the screen all the way up in order to shift gears (manual car) wich is not a big deal. The Annoying part is that the screen slides down if there’s bumpy roads..All in all great head unit for the money.
