FUN FACT:
In 2018, a man in Florida named Randy was using a 12-foot pole saw to trim a tall palm tree in his backyard. While reaching high, the pole saw got stuck in a branch. Instead of lowering it safely, he decided to "jerk it real hard" to free it.
The saw suddenly released, swung down violently, and the spinning chain caught him directly across the forehead, slicing a deep gash from one side of his head to the other. He was alone.
He wrapped his head in a shirt, drove himself to the hospital while bleeding heavily, and survived after dozens of stitches and staples. When asked why he didn’t use a ladder or call for help, he simply said:
“I didn’t want to look like a bitch in front of my wife.”
The story became legendary in local tree service and arborist Facebook groups, with people calling it “The Florida Forehead Special.”
