   Product Review: [TM150 & TM80 Speaker System]I​Overall Impression​Right out of the box, I was immediately impressed with the appearance and overall fit and finish. These speakers have a classy look and a premium aesthetic that will complement any home décor. While the build quality is somewhat modest—the MDF is thinner than I would expect—the phenomenal sound quality completely makes up for it. For the price point, this system is an absolute winner.​Sound Quality and Performance​These speakers are loud with very little audible distortion, delivering an excellent acoustic experience across the frequency range.​Highs & Mids: The dome tweeter and mid-range drivers deliver crisp, clean highs, ensuring clarity in dialogue and effects.​Bass: The built-in subs produce deep, rich bass that is impactful and powerful.​Home Theater Application​I am currently using this system in a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos home theater configuration, utilizing a pair of TM150s for the right and left fronts and two pairs of TM80s for the surrounds and rears. My center channel also utilizes a powered sub (from a different manufacturer). I have 2 12 inch powered subs for the lowest frequencies.After setup and calibration, I tested the system with the 4K movie Final Reckoning. I was absolutely floored by the sound quality. The separation was distinct and noticeable, the highs were sharp and crisp, and the deep rumble of the bass was enough to shake the windows, completely surpassing my expectations for a system at this price.​Features and Versatility​The system is highly versatile, offering great standalone features that add to its value and fun factor.​Bluetooth Connectivity: The Bluetooth connectivity was seamless and straightforward to set up. The signal was strong and provided good range.​FM Radio: The FM radio plays as expected, also with a good, strong signal reception.​Karaoke: The karaoke feature was loads of fun. Connecting a separately purchased microphone and pairing a tablet via Bluetooth (using Amazon Music for music and lyrics) allowed us to mirror the lyrics to the big screen for a group activity.​Noted Issues​I did encounter one minor manufacturing issue. I accidentally plugged RCA cables into the wrong input on one set of the TM80’s Aux 2 terminals. When I pulled the cables out, the terminals pulled right out with them. I had to use a pair of pliers to separate them from the cables. Fortunately, this did not affect the use of the other terminals, and all other functionality is still intact. Sending the speakers back for such a small issue would have been more trouble than it was worth.​Final Verdict​Hardcore audiophiles might scoff at a budget system like this, but for the average person looking for great, powerful sound without breaking the bank, this system is highly recommended. It is versatile, powerful, and aesthetically appealing—a perfect standalone system for great sound on a budget.I was unable to add a video and pictures. I kept getting an error.

   BEAUTY, POWER & AUDIO EXCELLENCE!!!

   I took a chance on these in the sense that I am not too familiar with the Rockville name and their relatively new (July 30th) appearance on Amazon.I can say without a doubt – these are seriously LEGIT!!! They look beautiful & SOUND utterly amazing!! I am giving 5-stars but that seriously understates my satisfaction with these incredible speakers!These are packed with outstanding tone & power! The remote control has some extremely well thought out features such as adjustable subwoofer & Treble levels at your fingertips. These speakers sound fantastic set flat and from there you can make basic balance adjustments to the subwoofer & treble levels to suit your tastes/room levels. There are also a number of EQ presets if you wish to scroll through them using the remote and stop on one you like and the icing on that cake is that you can STILL adjust subwoofer & treble frequencies on top of any EQ preset curve you select. This allows for a complete & total sound tweaking experience – fantastic!The built in FM stereo is awesome – solid reception and the AutoScan features zips through and programs every station to a preset for you.The Bluetooth connection is rock solid and sounds fantastic!I have not utilized the SD and USB playback options yet, but will soon. I can envision creating a sleep-geared selection on maybe an SD card and leaving that inserted full time for chill/sleep/relaxation. Not sure, but I believe both the SD and USB have a 32GB limit each, but that should hold a huge amount of songs – especially between the 2 of them.There’s a TON to love about these speakers – they replaced an 8″ floor sub and pair bookshelf speakers & center channel, separate bluetooth device, all the wiring associated with this, etc. They essentially de-cluttered my TV/living room setup while bringing beauty, power & a MUCH higher level of audio quality. I haven’t been this happy with an audio purchase in a VERY long time. It is a true joy to listen to anything through this quality of sound. As others stated, these speakers can deliver some low end. Introducing dual 10″ woofers into your listening environment can at first seem overwhelming, especially if you are not accustomed to subs or that kind of low end power but a simple & quick subwoofer level adjustment from the remote will put it right where you would like it to be. I appreciate the power on tap – whether I want to keep the subwoofer volume at lower levels or kick them up a couple of notches for movie nights, etc. These speakers can certainly deliver the deep goods if you ask it of them. Just be considerate of your neighbors – with great power comes great responsibility, lol. No matter what the bass levels are set at, these speakers still maintain excellent balance, detail & clarity in the mids & highs. I am no audiophile by any stretch, but I contend that these are truly a beautiful sounding pair of speakers. I am noticing sound & detail clarity in movies & PS4 games that eluded my previous sound system setup.Cons -If there are any cons at all I would say that I don’t care for the volume of the “Bluetooth connected” voice when you pair your device – it could come down in volume a bit, but this a minor personal preference not much of con to speak of.I do wish the user manual detailed a little more specifically some of the EQ presets (showing perhaps the EQ curves & frequencies being used, etc).A sleep function on the remote or main unit would be a wonderful option, but all-in-all, this system ROCKS and I already want another pair!Highly recommended!!!

   Great speakers for the money

   After much debate and skepticism, because of reviews, I got mine today. And at first all I heard eas rattle and what sounded like just a very poor quality system. Then I moved them around a bit and found they were actually rattling my entertainment center. Now that I have mitigated that, they sound absolutely amazing.I.had actually even set them to.be returned. Obviously I canceled the return.Budget friendly, great sound and stylish. The Bluetooth does have an issue where it cuts for a split second often enough that it is very noticeable.All in all, im satisfied so far. We will see about longevity. I did buy the extra insurance just incase any thing happenes. I feel better knowing I have at least a couple years with them.

   1/31/24. First this is a not paid for or exchanged for review and have been playing do 30 min. 1) used like new ,,, well the packing as you can see was horrible and allowed a lot of movement. There was no type of support in between or on top of speakers to avoid flopping around.. longevity of components hmmm ? 2) bcuz there was so much flopping around from very bad packing my thinking is there is a speaker leg slightly rattling in my speaker bcuz I’m missing one thinking it slipped in thru the sub out opening in back of course the sticky/ glue pads for feet came out of bag also and glue is on speaker ..Or it is something else that fell off. ? Remote is touchy but works being patient / aiming.. one review says they can hear past a 1 acre plot well not at very high levels or the wind is favoring or very quiet outside Imo .. the sound is nice/ full but must play around w options for that full quality sound. They are in a 30’ x 25’ room 13’ ceilings and fill the room w nice sound .. Remember 370.00 speakers probably will be what they are made in china.. Temps were taken at same time at 26 for 30 minutes.. I do not have any real distortion at 26-28. And the sound for the money is actually nice but does take adjusting to have. The speakers were suspose to be cherry but are black / tm150b. Will update again in 3 weeks. Once my place is completed these are going in garage .. Also the videos do not do sound any justice and 1 review said listen w headphones to not hear distortion. 4/17/24 Bluetooth seems to be gone, on off on off, then I have to go back and select bt then it comes on and immediately (3seconds) power goes off and is repeating process. Customer service has been irrational so I’m not even wasting my time. Amazon never stepped in to totally refund me for these as they are monitoring the conversations I had w them. Total loss of money.

   Great for the price

   Rockville is not a high end brand… and neither is it a low end brand. It’s a fairly product for a good price. Just don’t have high expectations and you won’t be disappointed. In terms of Value, this is where Rockville shines. This item was once much lower so value was better then but even now the value is still there.Pros:Good ValueGood productGood midsLooks goodCons:Poor highs: don’t expect crisp highs. I’m not a fan of highs/trebles so it’s not a big deal for me.Cables are too short: They need to link it via blue tooth or wireless. Wires is not nearly long enough to run from one corner of the room to another corner. Especially if you plan to have it on a pedestal.Not loud enough for parties: This is not 250W RMS… Wattage don’t necessarily translate to SPL (loudness) but Rockville tens to rate their wattage much higher. Someone tested this on YouTube and found this item to max at 91.6 W. I don’t plan to always use it that loud… but it’ll be nice to have it loud when having a karaoke party. It’s definitely not a party speaker.In summary, it’s far from perfect… but it fits my need for 95% of the time. For that 5% where I need it to be louder, I can use something else. This looks great with any decor and has all the features that I need. It is missing crisp sounds but I have not tried the optical input (only tested this via blue tooth). For the value, you cannot beat it so I must it five stars regardless it’s many flaws.

   This company will screw you!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CLOWNS!!!

   I ordered the sound system. A week later, the sound system arrived. Upon unboxing of the product, I noticed that a top speaker was dislodged from it’s hole in the top of speakerbox. This speaker was found damaged, at the bottom of the plastic wrap. (see images 1 and 2)I thought this may be something I could fix, so decided to plug it in anyway, to see how it sounds. I plugged the power unit into an known good outlet and device did NOT power on. I tried power via a different outlet, and another. No power from any known good outlets. The power supply is broken.As per my explanation of the issue, Rockville agreed to cover shipping costs for both send and receive, after I located a pick up location. Fortunately, after re-boxing this item, a local Walgreens took the package, as they are aware the next closest freight center is/was over an hour away. The FedEx driver picks up package.About a week later, my new system arrives. This product is/was also deficient. The second arrival was missing components: no sound-speaker connector cable, no remote, no speaker feet. I contacted the seller support center again, sharing with her the missing components and my utter disgust with how they’ve handled this issue, twice now, offering a damaged product and then not providing ALL of the missing components.A few weeks ago, SOME of the missing components arrived. Rockville sent the connector cable and the speaker feet but the feet are missing hardware (bolts) to attach them to the speakers and I have yet to receive the system remote control at this time. Also of note, I have NOT received any warranty info to fill out, as was requested.I was very upset and have given this vendor an opportunity to redeem themselves, but it’s been two months since I’d ordered this device and STILL do not have a complete unit. Missing components include: Remote control, speaker feet hardware, warranty info.Based on Rockville’s actions and lack of actions over the past two months, defective merchandise and the inability to correct their deficiencies, I am beyond requesting the missing components be expedited, I want a full refund on this unit, paid in full, at no cost to myself.Update >>It has now been fourteen weeks (three months, two weeks) since I’d ordered this unit. I remain w/out a complete unit and they continue to placate me with happy smiles and ‘sincere’ apologies, while informing me the ‘part’ (remote) is still unavailable.These acts are symptoms of a criminal enterprise. Do not buy any Rockville products. You will be pushed down the line until the 30day refund policy has expired, they will placate you with fake boilerplate apologies until you cave and say eff it and give up.DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! On January 5th, it will be four months since I’d ordered the unit. It came to me damaged and they wanted me to pay shipping to get it back. The second unit that came was still missing components. They continue to placate me with lies and now insult me, insinuating that I’d missed components (from an empty box, no less)! They will screw you, lie to you and since the shipping/return process takes time, your warranty expiration will expire. Then you’ll be in the boat I’m in, screwed waiting for a complete unit. Good luck. Heed this warning. This company will screw you. The positive reviews are most-likely from in-house paid employees. Good luck. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

   Know what you’re buying

   These are cheap powered speakers and their quality is mid to low end. Read the other reviews for ease of use. I’m writing about the technical aspects.There are a number of equalizer settings but the only one that seems to transmit highs and lows normally is “NOA.” There, the lows are ok but still too strong for me. “JAZ2″ basically cuts the lows and therefore half the speaker volume. There is no pleasing setting in my opinion and most of them have horribly loud lows. If you are looking for rumbling bass, this is for you. The low pass filter here is just set too low. It’s kind of unusable.After a few weeks and therefore a few hours of use, I lost the midrange speakers on the right. They began to pop and only lower frequencies were coming from them. I already was dissatisfied with the quality so I figured warranty service was just going to give me the same thing, so I opened the thing up.Inside you find three TDA2765 amplifier chips which do not look genuine from ST. They look like Chinese clones and have the same codes on them as many pictures on the Internet at least in the case of the two treble amps. The base amp chip looks a little more authentic. I could replace them with genuine ones from Digi-key, Mouser, or Newark. I did notice other instances of them failing in the reviews.I examined both the amp board and preamp board and have concluded the right channel amp chip is the culprit. I also discovered that they are using bridging for a total maximum of 50w on the midrange and tweeters on each side for a total of 100w maximum from the front 8 speakers which are all wired together inside separate from the woofer. Studying the datasheet, they’re being run inside at +/-13v so it’s basically half the wattage than if you ran this at the maximum of +/-25v internally. Also on the preamp board I discovered that for the midrange and tweeters despite having a separate amp chip for left and right, they are wired together at the audio processor meaning the front 8 drivers are mono!The remaining TDA2765 is not bridged but uses it’s two amps in a 25w+25w configuration for the two woofers and these really are stereo sound even on the preamp board. These are 10” 8ohm 50w woofers. With the 13v supply that’s more likely around 10w.So because the internal connections to the speakers are well accessible, I decided to get a Fosi Audio 100w+100w Class D amplifier, which drives 8 ohm woofers at around 50w at full power and another 300w+300w amp from them for the midrange and tweeters. Both amps have about 1/3 more power than necessary to drive all these speakers at full range and a treble and base adjustment to tune for the frequency range more appropriate for the speakers in question. And with all of that hooked up and connected to a small distribution amplifier, the sound out of these speakers is Amazing and now I have full stereo! Instead of mid to low range quality, now these are definitely above mid range in sound quality. Beautiful highs and normal sounding lows. I’ll keep them.I didn’t mention that one of the woofer domes was dented, they’re just paper. I popped it back out with a needle, making tiny stabs in the right places but it looked like someone unsuccessfully tried to do it by dampening it, based on the fuzz. If you get these you might want to pop the woofer covers off during initial inspection. You might also consider replacing the internal amplifier and just using the cabinet.The bottom line is I’m happy with how they are now with the mods, but I wouldn’t buy them again. Note, you can find some of the replacement parts on their website.I’m definitely going to try repairing the circuit board with genuine ST amplifier chips. I also might bypass the equalizer by removing the audio processor chip and wire the input directly to the pads for the output of the processor. I bet the sound could be even better than with my class D amps as these are Class AB. Definitely something to consider if you can get these used but probably too much hassle if they’re new, unless you’re interested in a fun audio challenge because the circuits are pretty self explanatory on the inside and pretty much everything is through-hole and well filtered. Hats off to Roy for the electrical design!

    Looks great but….

    First, I want to start off by saying that these speakers look fantastic!! I was so excited to hook these up to my Samsung TV in my living room. I used the optical connection or at least I tried to use it. I went into my TV’s settings to turn off the TV speakers and turn on the optical output. The TV speakers did turn off but the Rockville speakers did not turn on. I checked the optical connection to see if it was working and it was. I turned off the optical connection and turned the TV speakers back on and the Rockville speakers turned on but only work with the TV speakers on. That isn’t going to work for me. I don’t want the TV speakers on at all. That is why I bought these speakers. Then I tried the blue tooth connection. The TV and the Rockville speakers paired and connected without any problems. I adjusted the sound of the speakers to my liking or at least I tried. I adjusted the treble to max setting which is +10. It still wasn’t enough treble for me. The speakers sounded muffled. The 8 band eq is only presets. Presets for Rock, Jazz, Country etc. I find that misleading. I thought you could actually adjust 8 different frequencies. I could not find a preset that I liked. I adjusted the sound the best I could. The volume of the speakers goes up to 30. Being that these speakers are 1000 watts peak and 250 RMS the volume level is a real disappointment. I like to watch movies loud to get the movie theatre effect. I had to turn the TV volume up a lot and the speaker volume to max and it still was not enough. I am not very happy with these speakers at all. If they were not so heavy and large I would send them back. It would be too much of a hassle to repackage them. I guess I lost $369.95 I really wanted to like these speakers. Again, I absolutely love how they look. If they performed as good as they look I would be a very happy man
